Welcome to the Augusta/CSRA Habitat for Humanity Junior Achievement Discovery Center of Georgia page! We are thrilled to be the first Habitat for Humanity affiliate to join forces with the Junior Achievement Center of Georgia to bring awareness to the need for advocacy and volunteerism in communities across the CSRA.

Advocacy
At Augusta/CSRA Habitat for Humanity, we believe everyone deserves a safe, decent, and affordable place to live. Advocacy is a crucial part of our work. We engage in various activities to influence public policy and resource allocation to support affordable housing. Our advocacy efforts include:
- Raising Awareness: Educating the community about the need for affordable housing and the challenges faced by low-income families.
- Policy Initiatives: Working with local, state, and national policymakers to promote legislation that supports affordable housing.
- Community Engagement: Mobilizing volunteers and supporters to participate in campaigns and events that highlight the importance of housing affordability.
Volunteerism
Volunteers are the backbone of Habitat for Humanity. Whether you’re an individual, a group, or a corporate team, there are numerous ways you can contribute to building homes and hope in our community. Our volunteer opportunities include:
- Construction Volunteering: Help build and repair homes alongside future homeowners and our construction team. No experience is necessary; we provide all the training and tools you’ll need.
- ReStore Volunteering: Assist in our ReStore, where we sell donated building materials, furniture, and appliances to fund our housing projects.
- Special Events and Fundraising: Participate in or help organize events that raise awareness and funds for our mission.
- Administrative Support: Provide valuable assistance in our office with tasks like data entry, marketing, and outreach.
